Capacity Building Fund

In Australia, over one million people are living with, or have lived with, cancer. In the past year, 165,000 people were diagnosed — that’s 452 new diagnoses per day.

It is anticipated that by 2031, cancer cases will increase by 22%. As one of the fastest-growing regions in NSW, Penrith’s expanding population is likely to see a corresponding rise in cancer cases.

Our capacity is already stretched, and we need to do more to ensure we can keep up with this growth. Cancer Wellness Support is taking steps to build capacity and meet the increasing demand for cancer support services in our community.

A Capacity Building Fund will allow us to do whatever is required to support our local community - a few examples could be increasing our therapy spaces, developing additional comprehensive programs, engaging more specialist therapists, or expanding our reach across the region.
